Looks like there is going to be some consolidation of documentation over in Mozilla-land. Mozilla Developer Central (DevMo for short) is online now and in Alpha! The effort is moving documentation from the mozilla.org website, at least the developer related stuff.
My only problem with this project is that now there is mozilla.org, wiki.mozilla.org, mozillazine.org, and developer.mozilla.org. All of which have documentation about using and building mozilla, some of which is out of date and a lot of which is not as complete as needed. My thought is that there needs to be an information czar who works for MoFo that lays down what goes where.
Well, I just wandered over to Mozillazine and read about the creation of the Mozilla Corporation. This adds another interesting spanner in the works. Should there now be seperate documentation on the commercial properties associated with MozCorp? I'll have more to write about all this.
I've started compiling some links to Mozilla Foundation related stuff. Namely Extension and XUL stuff that I am finding helpful while I work on my Masters Project. It's over here, so go take a look. I will begin to write some documentation of my own as I go to try and clarify some of the confusion I find with having so many documentation sources.
Yay! The weekly archives, which are what the right hand link to archives takes you to have now been styled. I think that finishes the application of style to my website. I think I'll add archives by title as well to help ease the search for old posts. I also need to look into reviving all my old redfive.ws blog entries and stuff. Not sure how to go about doing that but I imagine it's something like 1)dump the database to a text file 2) import textfile into new install. Of course it probably isn't quite that easy, especially since I think I hosed my MT installation on my redfive.ws server, and it's an older version anyway.
Wow, well I've been back from Yosemite for quite some time now. I do have some pictures I'm going to post here over the coming days. It was a fabulous trip, my first to Yosemite. My friends had a nice littel ceremony at the chapel in the valley, in view of Yosemite Falls which was just going crazy with all the runoff. Went on several hikes along the falls and had a great time. Stayed at a very cute B&B outside of the park and it worked out awesome! Camping is fun and all, but at the end of a crazy day of hiking being able to go home and soak in a hot tub is _really_ nice. :-)
After coming back from the park I went straight into building and rehearsing Brigadoon and that ate up all my time. Which is the main reason I haven't been posting here lately. But now the show is open and my days are free and I can get back to working on my project and sitting at my computer all day. So there will be more posts and more content hitting my site.
